Roundtable Discussion - Why DNN vs Wordpress In this DNN meetup, we will have an open round-table discussion on a question we are often faced with, "Why DNN vs Wordpress?" Long-time DNN community member and original core team member, Nina Meiers, will be joining us from her humble abode in Australia and we hope many more of you will participate. In this DNN User Group meeting, we discussed all things DNN Security! We were joined by Mitch Sellers of IowaComputerGurus plus had insight from Will Morgenweck of DNNCorp. We reviewed security recommendations and the security activity in the DNN community this summer. We also reviewed the recent announcements, vulnerabilities and had a round-table discussion that shared everyone's patching and update experiences.
 

SoFried June Meeting - DNN Admin Platform with DNNSharp & Persona Bar Develompent with Scott Wilkinson

Bogdan Litescu of DNN Sharp introduced us to their new product release, the DNN Admin platform. Bogdan described the tool which helps admin perform bulk management of multi-portal instances remotely, "Currently, most [people's manual] effort has been put into deploying updates - that is extensions, pages, entire portals or even parts of a portal. The solution is designed to be simple (so the person making deployments doesn't have to be a DNN guru) and scale from 1 to 10,000 portals with the support of bulk deployments. Scott Wilkinson of BlueBolt shared information on Persona Bar development from his DNNCon presentation in which Scott presented, "the most efficient and best practices for building and packaging a React Persona Bar extension, [and shows] practical examples of how to use the Persona Bar extension as a solution to a problem.
 

SoFried March Meeting - Dennis Shiao Interview + Ionic & JWT with David Poindexter

In this meeting we had a nice conversational interview with Dennis Shiao of DNNCorp. Dennis discussed marketing & content marketing and the tools he uses. Then David Poindexter of nvisionative.com gave an in-depth presentation on DNN's JWT auth provider and demonstrated how he leverages it for mobile development with Ionic Creator.
 

SoFried September Meeting – Deploying to Azure & DNN Platform Announcements

We had another great Southern Fried DNN User Group meeting last night. Our featured speaker was David Rodriguez of DNNCorp who gave us a great demonstration of deploying and managing DNN on Azure. Then Joe Brinkman who provided some community updates around DNN v9 and the Admin/Host area of DNN.
