Growing up with Star Wars and being a creative artist-type person, I was always thrilled with the idea that the "final test of a true Jedi is to build their own lightsaber." [and] these days in the Lightsaber building community, there are many kits that can be assembled, many companies making portions and milled pieces through to epic $10K masterpieces of artwork... and that got me thinking, "how can I bring together the two things that I love in a theme for a DNN Saber?"

Lightsaber Photo Gallery

This year I continued with the etching work that was done on last years sabers. That previous etching was left "blind etched" so that it was the silver aluminum color and could be seen in detail at close inspection and while rotating the hilt. This year, to help it stand out more visibly, I worked with a longer acid/electric etching time that cut a deeper etch, leaving room for the space to take black enamel paint for a finished edge that is smooth to the touch and highly visible for the DNN logo!
